Hey Hey Hey! So, glad you have stopped by to learn about little ol’ me! My name is Melissa and i’m the creator of The Sketch and Doodle Club.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself and some of my personal art…
For as long as I can remember, art has been a part of my world. Growing up, you’d often find me with a pencil in hand, sketching away in one of the countless journals I filled as a kid. (Just to confess I still have a journal obession, and literally have to tell myself “NO, MELISSA….YOU DON’T NEED ANOTHER JOURNAL” when I’m at a store. The struggle is real.)
I still remember sitting in front of the TV, watching Mark Kistler on Channel 9 as he made drawing feel like pure magic. I’d follow along, line by line, completely captivated. Those moments sparked something in me—a deep love for creativity that still burns bright today.

Even now, I can’t resist the pull of a blank page or a fresh set of art supplies. My shelves are packed with old-school drawing books (I’ll never stop collecting them!), and I recently discovered a brand-new passion for watercolor painting.
Honestly, I never thought I’d care for painting, but the moment I picked up a brush, I was hooked. Artists like Sarah Cray of Let’s Make Art have been such an inspiration, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to explore this new medium.
But my creative adventures don’t stop there. Over the years, I’ve dabbled in so many artsy pursuits—scrapbooking, card-making, paper crafts—you name it! Each project has been a little escape, a source of joy, and, most importantly, a way to express myself.

For me, creativity has always been more than a hobby. It’s a chance to unwind, destress, and connect with that playful, curious side of myself.
And that’s exactly what I hope this space will be for you—a place to recharge, get inspired, and tap into your own creative spirit.
Here, you’ll find all kinds of artistic inspiration, from beginner-friendly how-to’s ideas that push the boundaries of your imagination.

Whether you’re sketching for the first time, dusting off an old art journal, or wanting to try something entirely new, I want this to feel like your creative home—a judgment-free zone where it’s all about the joy of making.
Art has this incredible way of bringing us closer to ourselves and the world around us. Whether it’s through a simple doodle, a vibrant watercolor piece, or a heartfelt handmade card, each creation tells a story and becomes part of who we are.
My goal is to celebrate that, and to help you discover just how fulfilling and fun it can be to make something uniquely yours.
Thank you for stopping by and sharing your time with me. I can’t wait to see what we’ll create together!
